12 von 12 {November 2012}

Breakfast before we rent our car...today's agenda: Visit Seattle! :D
Vancouver wouldn't be Vancouver without the rain right?!
YAY! We made it through the border...with some waiting....
First sight of Seattle
Remembering which level we parked our car on...
5 people 10 feet...lalala...
Sight seeing....
And lunch (after we walked past a thousand places...) but this one was definitely good ;)
And because we are brave: Maple glazed mini donuts with bacon (!)...though being brave once will definitely close the case on that one!
Art at the evening...The Gum Wall Alley
And an awesome view on Seattle at night...
Heading home...waiting at the border...

So much for my Monday considering 12 von 12...though there will be another post on my Monday up tomorrow since this one just didn't give Seattle all the credit it deserves ;)
Everyone else as always: Here :)

And sorry for being late...I"ll just blame those nine hours which put me back in time!! ;)

This week {What I've learned so far}

It's Saturday morning. My heater is on the sun is shining in my room and I'm done with my week. It wasn't an easy week I have to admit. It was actually the most difficult week since I came here. But...

...life is not just always easy.
...you have to step out of your comfort zone to grow.
...it is also ok to break down and be weak and to cry.
...allow it to be shit (sorry) but also give it a new try after it. Close it. accept it as what it was and start over again. Everything should get a second chance!
...friends are the most important thing in life. They will always be there for you. They are the ones who catch you when you fall and comfort you when you can't!

...and last but not least: It's never totally dark! There is always a tiny bit of light! You just have to find it!

So much about what I've learned this week. I woke up this morning even before 7!! (The first day I could have slept long..and what do I do...wake up before everyone else is up. But oh well). So I made myself a healthy yummy breakfast (After I was shopping this week), started my mails, watched the sun rise ♥, started my laundry and thought things over.

And this is what my week now looks like: (Sorry for so many phone pictures it's just so more convenient than carrying my big camera around with me all the time. But promise: There are two posts already waiting including high quality camera pictures!)

To work in the morning...and back when it's dark...
To brighten up my mood on Tuesday...or was in Wednesday?!...Starbucks (with the Red cups!)...oh and I fell in love with those cute snowman cookies :D
Oscar ♥...this is what he does to you when you eat :D
Shopping after work on Thursday (can u tell I had a cold?!) and sushi afterwards
Waiting while my Chai is in preparation...well waiting to be done...after all the thousand customers are served who came before I did....*sight*
We found out this huge educational gap of mine at work: I didn't know Dill Pickle Chips! The guys took care of that one :D (and Ketchup Chips!)
Some Hockey on Friday! Go!
And my breakfast this morning, just because I think it's so good that it should be mentioned: Banana with Greek yogurt nuts, cherries, muesli and honey. Yummines! ♥

It was a challenge. I took it. I survived. Bring on the next week! ;)

I like...

...fortune cookies
...the smell of freshly baked goods
...the taste of chocolate
...how a morning looks if you see the sky
...how the air smells after rain
...new colours
...friendly and open people who smile
...sparkles
...new dreams
...the sky
...fresh air

What do you like? And doesn't it make you already happy just to think of things you like?!

First day of work {welcome in life}

Last day of school {a second time this year}

My internship will start on Monday.
Thanks to my awesome main class (the best in ILAC!!!) for three amazing months :)

At least it was not raining...
My class on its way to lunch
Water, birds, gray and Stanley Park
I love those birds
Walking ;)
Smile :) (and taking advantage of the appetizer!!!)
Soooo good!
Some still had to wait for food ;)
Food and talking and walking and hot coffee seems like a good way to finish three month and say hello to another three :)

Growing up {or whatever}

I think the most important lessons I have learned in the last three month are:

Be honest to yourself about who you are (though it's totally fine to appear a bit different according to several mood changes. They will eventually disappear...otherwise: Sounds old and overused: But you're the most interesting if you're just yourself!)

Smile and Laugh! (It's healthy and there is no other way you'll look beautiful that fast and easy ;))

Dance and listen to (loud) music! (Brightens up any rainy day)

It's never too cold to wear shorts!

And make cozy movie evenings on rainy days! You'll forget about the rain, I promise ;)

...uh and bake!!!! (Highly recommended: bake with peanut butter!♥)

and (a second time) after all: Don't take it too serious ;)

Ganz kurz zwischendurch

The Nightmare before Christmas {Aka my very first own pumpkin carving}

So this Thursday turned out to be my "free" day of the week. Thing is: I get too excited about those rare free days! I start planning and planning and adding To-Do's one after the other that I end up with my "free" Day being the busiest of the week.
My plan for today was: Buy a gift, rush home, skype, do my laundry, go shopping for groceries, bake, answer my mails, read, clean my room and go to bed early.

It started with my skype-date telling me she didn't have time. So I did my shopping and just went home. I did buy all the ingredients for my baking but it just never happened...because:
I discovered that carving pumpkins is actually FUN! Like really fun! So no chocolate cookies, no answered mails, no detailed plans for my following days and no reading so far but two awesome pumpkins!

Here we go ;P

You'll need:
  •  Pumpkins
  • Marker
  • a cutter
  • and coffee ;)
My original plan was to carve one of my pumpkins and just paint the other one. So let's start there.

(Ups pictures got mixed up!) So cut the top off first. Remove the stem and the seeds. Than I drew my face on with a marker so cutting would be easier. And this is were the problem started! Carving is addictive! So here goes my warning before you start ;)

Jack halfway through...I sort of like his messy appearance
Smile!!
So no painting but just carving!
Btw: I didn't want to go with the normal huge pumpkins and I was looking for a cheap option so I ended up buying actual pumpkin-pie pumpkins. The carving worked just fine. I'm not sure though if they will hold as long as a normal pumpkin would. I'll keep you updated.

I tried deep-cut-carving and just scratching-the-surface-carving I guess I like both though the second one  probably only starts to look cool once you insert a light (and I forgot to buy some) but, oh well.

Definitely my favourite!
Scratching-the-surface-carving
Mixed
Deep-cut....BOOO!
I really like my end products! So if you didn't do it yet: There is still time you know! ;) Go and get some pumpkins!
(Oh and you can roast the seeds if you want (and aren't to lazy like I am...))

Happy Happy Halloween!
