The crane project {Vancouver, BC Canada}

It's all gray and cold here so I thought I might just add something that was one my list way too long already anyway.

I got some questions lately regarding my crane project in Canada, soooo...
First things first: I, of course, did my crane project but it went through a tiny change. I somehow thought it might be more fun to not just give some color and advice, but to involve people by doing so, right?! So here we go with the crane project in Canada (yeah, the crane might got a bit of a downgrade (does this word exist?!) to decoration, but...oh well)

The only thing/question I gave to people was: "Give me one piece of advice, serious/less serious that means something to you and that you think is worth sharing"

and because I liked to get people involved...I'll continue in that fashion and collect small pieces of wisdom and advice. Let's see what people in India will think of!!

The crane project {Mouries, Provence}

As it was a new city last week...or more like a new village...I had to do my crane project again.
But here's the thing: I invented the crane project because I wanted to add colour and awareness. But this place is, at least for me, everything a place could be. It did not feel right to go the way I normally would, considering my project. So I changed it a bit.

This time it is just one crane. I took a simple white paper and wrote everything on it I wish for. Not the stuff like a watch, a book or something. But things I hope I will manage one day. Like help others. Be open for new things. Learn. Be aware of my surroundings. Don't be restrained by prejudices...I wrote it all down and made a crane...

...a crane for me.

I know life will be rough at some points...

There might be big rocks in my way...or more like mountains....

I'll feel lost and alone...

But I'll never forget that I want to fly...

I want to climb trees and rocks and everything that lies in my way...

And I also know that there will be always something to stop me flying too high...

And a place I can go to, to find comfort and to stay. A base for me to start from again and again and make mistakes, learn, be open and experience life.

Paris {flying cranes}

We arrived exhausted but happy back home yesterday. Paris is amazing. I've got several posts waiting to be put together (awesome food and cute little stores!!) but I'll start with my cranes. (And to be honest I'm sort of pretty tired right now....)
But of course my cranes went flying :)

I used the second my mum decided to visit the Orangerie (which is truly truly amazing!) but had to stand in line for several minutes. Masking tape, check. Cranes, check. Bench, light post, chairs, check.

It was rainy this day but I still stayed with my plan and just kept pinning them to benches and chairs. The best feeling was the moment I watched a couple choose "my" bench and taking several minutes reading the cranes messages and looking out for the others I had glued to light posts and chairs. Mission accomplished. There is already a new city waiting :)

Und meine Kraniche fliegen. Langsam aber langsam und sicher von Stadt zu Stadt :)

Was mein Leben betrifft, da passiert momentan so viel, dass ich selber nicht weiß wo ich anfangen sollte zu erzählen. Desswegen warte ich bis der erste Ansturm vorbei ist und ich meinen Kopf ordnen kann (nicht nur während des Joggens...). Aber eins kann ich sagen: Die Schule beendet zu haben fühlt sich an, wie von einer Klippe zu springen und plötzlich zu merken, dass man tatsächlich fliegen kann!
Tolles Gefühl kann ich sagen!

The crane project

Because I missed colour and kindness so often I came up with the crane project.
It so often happened to me that people I smiled at or kindly greeted just looked weirdly back at me.
It makes me sad that simple things like kindness and a sense for others get lost these days.

So I wanted to invent something to bring it back. Something small I could manage but that would bring some attention as well.
So I started folding cranes. (Sort of. I already loved it so I just went with it anyway)

Cranes stand for vigilance and wisdom. In Japan it's also a symbol for longevity and luck. According to an old legend, you'll get one wish free if you fold 1000 cranes (so keep you're fingers crossed. There are only about 956 missing...) ;)
It was especially this legend that thrilled me as a kid. I always imagined myself in a room filled with hundreds and hundreds of cranes.

Anyway. So I started folding cranes. Each crane gets a little message written on its wings and then I sent them flying at public places.
It certainly adds colour but it also adds attentiveness and openness if you're willingly to be open.

The plan is to do this once in every city I pass. Maybe it will inspire people or just remind them of simple but important.

Every city will get its own post and I'll sum them up with one photo and a direct link in my "crane" section (above).

So here we go.

I started with my hometown since I was super excited and unsure. I don't know if it's the same with you, but going to a public place and hanging cranes on trees is not something I did before. (Therefore, my fingers trembled like crazy!)
However I managed it :)

The next day all but two of my cranes were gone. I'd like to imagine that people took them to remind themselves of something colourful and nice. Maybe they put it in their room?!
